Noticing alot of pressure on the rear casters, ended up going another route, put together one of two gantry cranes today, pretty heavy duty to harbor

Don, I like those lighting strips you have on your lift. Is that an LED tape down type?
yep cheap on amazon got one for each side just measure the length they are coming loose, been pretty rough on them, will use them for painting also then probably replace, and silicone the new one's in place unless I can clean them and get the paint off of them

thanks, finished up the other gantry crane, went over the under for any more undercoating residual, taped off most of the holes. going to double secure going to wipe the rest of any oils I can find. need to cram some blankets etc. around wheel tub and go thru some more protection to slow down infiltration of the stuff I will be finding for years to come. blast off scheduled for friday morning.

well got everything hooked up raised and crossed braced some straps to keep the car from swaying, had 15mph wind gusts, car was very stable. plan was working well got first frame rail done and my compressor puked :BangHead:. About 3 months ago a line blew off after some construction adjustment and it ran for 10 hrs. it got hot but changed the oil and seemed to be working fine, the added stress of the sand blaster did her in.

I bought an Ingersoll Rand. The motor is made in Mexico and the pump in India, but at least it's assembled in the USA and has basically a 100 duty cycle.

a friend of mine bought a polar air, made by eaton compressor, about a year after I bought that c-aire. super quiet and made in usa. gonna talk to them monday. pricing comparable to the assembled in usa models. there made near Dayton, Ohio, I can drive there and pick one up in a day, save shipping and the damages that come along with it.

well I found a replacement pump for the c-aire compressor, $1500 and some change, ordered it, ships tomorrow. hopefully be back at it by next week. Talked to the machinist on my block today, come to find out the cylinders were bored out to .018 ??? over. pistons were .020 hmm, another slight issue. That outta add a few horse power

That's crazy! At operating temperatures the pistons would be just about touching the cylinder walls! I sure hope the previous "rebuilder" at least used file fit rings! On the plus side, your machinist might be able to power hone it for some nice .020" over forged pistons!

Yes it is, we discussed honing it to .020. suprisingly was little to no damage a little piston scuffing but nothing to crazy, funny thing the guy before the last guy machined it back in the 90's to the .018. and was driven unknown miles. must have been a turd for a long time. I should rename the title to this thread "de-turding the AAR"
