already has factory torque boxes, sub frame connectors would be nice but the car being an AAR, just can't bring myself to weld to those near perfect floor pans (minus drivers side front) and the look wouldn't be to my liking, so I just won't put any sticky tire on her. The mid shock cross member was in rough shape, with the trunk pan being rotted put alot of stress on it. there was 2 spot welds left on the passenger side where it connected to the frame and was cracked in three spots. I originally put the motor in it and got it running then figured I would fix the rest as it stood out, which was pretty much everything. The one thing I couldn't figure out is a vibration on the car when I had a passenger side head wind. one day it would be fine at 80mph on highway the wind would change direction and 65mph was a handful. with a violent shaking, crossmember condition pretty much solved the mystery,

so welded the crossmember back in where it broke and I am adding a reinforcement piece to the back side of the front of the member where its narrow, not needing to accommodate the tail pipe going thru, no tailpipes on an AAR will put a 3/4" bend at the bottom to match the rest of the crossmember. may not be necessary with the new pan welded in, but will make me feel better about it.

if I would have put a stroker motor in this to begin with I would have possibly had a real mess on my hands, so glad I tore this thing down would have been hard to find not doing it.
