This US Car website shows some pictures of these connectors welded in but nothing clear to show how this is to be tapered down to fit the narrower car frame rail in the back.

Just saw this and thought I would chime in. I have a convert. If you ever saw it on a lift you would see the door to quarter gaps were outrageous.
Back on All 4's - it looks goods. Point being when I do install my Frame connectors - the car will be supported under the rear axel and at each lower control arm.
318/auto/ 8 3/4. Best of Luck.

I have installed 4 or 5 sets of these and I don't know what you mean by "tapered down".

I cut holes in the sides of the connectors so they route thru them.

having welded in frame connectors and more building a track car...i would remove the rear eand and springs, engine and k frame etc as currently that unibody is flexing from all the weight hanging off of it, rather than at rest.

I assure everyone that I lifted it on the rear axle and front tires. If it's going to flex, the 426 Hemi will probably be responsible...

@Doc Corey awesome build - what type of jack (if it's a 'jack') that's pushing up on the leaf spring in first post?

Also - what kind of paint/undercoating did you use on the bottom once you welded the frame rail connectors in?

Typically I put sub frame connector in with the car on my lift, I have also done one on my Rotisserie, either way I have never had any issues due to the manner the car was supported during the installation.
