Just got my renewal notice for the cuda and road runner. I have had Hagerty coverage for 20 plus years and no claims, so I am rewarded with a 50 percent increase in premium. The policy went up $300 per year.

Has anything went down or stayed the same price wise in CA lately? One reason I left Sac and moved to Idaho. Try State Farm. They actually have an acceptable premium. Mine is $255 per year based on a vehicle value of $40,000. Good luck.

The deductibles and coverage determine most of the premium. But I think it is to high. Going to look elsewhere if it will make a difference. Don't want to lose an asset over a $100. Someone will get my business.

My renewal is about here, looks like I'll be shopping American Collectors Insurance. You can't sneeze here in Michigan without your insurance going up.

State Farm has a terrible track record for paying claims. Buyer Beware.

Times do change. My son was in school took his girlfriend to the mall. Parked way out of the way so nothing happened to our car. Low and behold he came out and the was a guy waiting for him that hit the car. The guy had two kids in the back careering on and got distracted. My son was upset. The adjuster from State Farm came and looked at it. The first thing I told him is I don't want it totaled. We just built a lot of dependably into it. Brakes tires exhaust axles and others. It was an older Subaru I bought for him in the winter, ($700?) put bald tires on it and said go drive like I showed you! The adjuster made out the estimate for2k and keep the car. Didn't even question or blink an eye. Just a bent fender, bumper cover and edge of the door. Bang it out and away it went. My son later thought it through. He said the Subaru destroyed the Kia and it wasn't even moving! He look at it as a great battle scare.

I would say They treated us right. Back then.

If they treated you well - that’s good news. I suggest you take your money, and run…..run far….run fast, and don’t look back. Your next policy - should you choose to stay with State Farm, will probably be accompanied by an outrageous “post claim” price tag. Nothings free at State Farm. My State Farm Agent, left me “holding the bag” and the bills…… Good Luck Friend.

For comparison if it's helpful. Hagerty 1973 340 Cuda Annual Premiums 6-2024 thru 6/2025 was $471.00, Guaranteed Value $38,000. As with most things I expect an increase come June. I've had Hagerty just over a decade now.

I dumped Hagerty for this very reason! I now have my Cuda insured with State Farm for almost 1/2 the cost. Only difference is Hagerty had $0 deductible and State Farm has $500 deductible on collision. I've been with State Farm for years for insurance on all my other vehicles, RV and home and had a few claims over the years. I've never had an issue with them settling on any claim.

I’ve been with Hagerty since I’ve had classics to insure and I see these threads every year. Every year I brace myself for some crazy increase because of this chatter and every year I open that renewal to find that any increase is negligible at best. Has it been slowly creeping up? Sure but what hasn’t??

That's a great rate, for clarification:
Is that for the entire year, or 6 months?
I have almost same policy with AC too, but my yearly policy is $600.
But I don't have the 2500 mile limit.

One thing I like about Hagerty is the cherished auto rider, 40 bucks extra a year. With the rider, if my car gets totaled, I get the agreed upon payout AND I get to keep the car.

Yearly. There could be other factors that calculate the premium. Zip code, credit score, driving record, recent claims and who else is on the policy. Here again that's an industry that I think it is out of control. In most cases? Theil accept your premium with out question and when it come time to honor the claim. They back pedal and find a work around in fine print. They just don't want to take on the responsibility. I'm sure we all seen this in some form. Deny Delay Defend Suspend!

I’d have to haul my car to another state in order to get 2500 miles in a year. If I tried that here in Michigan, all I’d get is the bill for 4 new wheels, and a busted suspension.

Two examples. One. Had my son on our policy when in school and collage. We were with a local insurance co in our town from the day I was driving. On and off through the decades car and home. Mostly on. Same as my father. They took good care of our family. I want to say about 10 years ago they sold out , retiring. Our son was on his own for about 2 year? We were looking at our policy's and changing things around. We then realized our son was still on our policy as a house hold drive. So we contacted the new company to remove him as a house hold driver. They refused. They first wanted his driver's license, rent receipt's, bills where he resided, car insurance and car registration. I said to them. That is his privet information. But the still insisted. We fixed that went with an other insurance co. 3 houses 6 cars They keep calling us and sending us letters to renew or policy's. For a year or more.

The second is about heath insurance. We all know about that too. In the early 2000's. In are house hold we had 2 heath insurance policy's on each of us. One where she worked and one where I worked. Both good Mine $5 copay for just about everything. So about that time if the decade things were changing. The union I was working in W PA had 13 locals about 10-12k members. We all had Blue cross Blue shield. I do have say it was pretty good. When our son was born in the early 90's. We walked out with him and no bill. So about 2007 there was a drastic change. The collective bargaining for are union told Blue Cross that if they did cut there administration fees by 4 million. They where going to sign with United. There where other unions that said. That Union goes were going too. So just double those numbers. Mounty premium $1500 x 24K= $37,500,000 annual in premiums. This is a rough numbers," not the $4million." $800 for a member and $1500 a month for a family no matter how many.
So we went and so did the other unions.
So wouldn't you know they found a way to cut $4million the net year.
