I just finished restoring a dash pad from a 73 challenger,
I used a flexible epoxy adhesive and colored truck bed liner, I think it turned out pretty good

I wasn't happy with the texture, So I did another application of material a light sanding and a clear coat. Its ready for install.
It turned out way better than I thought it would.

Looks good. Nice job. I did mine and then cut two long oval slits for the roll cage A pillar bars through all my work...

Those are both amazing!! I plan on attempting to repair my own as well. Can I ask what products each of you used?

Repair looks great! Much better than cracks.
With such a great repair I would think it would be possible to purchase the vinyl stamp and put the actual vinyl imprint on the texture to look factory.

About 90% of the vinyl had to come off. The adhesive comes in cans, I bought the gallon kit, I have enough to do 4 or 5 more dash pads

It really turned out great. It looks like you left the original vinyl on around the VIN tag, the Challenger Script plate, around the defrost duct openings, and on the pad ends. You spread the flexible epoxy filler over the original foam. Sand smooth to shape. Then, the truck bed liner sprayed on gave you the texture and you knocked it down with a light sanding and the sprayed clearcoat. Is that your sequence? It turned out very nice. How many hours do you figure you have into the repair? I realize your second pad would go quicker.

40 hours is a good time for figuring out a repair process that you are pleased with. Really a great job. Thank you. If you get a chance, can you post a photo of the cans of product you used. I see the company offers several products.
