How rare? Just wondering how rare my 71 Challenger RT is? Is there a registry that someone keeps?
Thanks,Rich
Hi Rich, The rarity of your particular car is determined by several factors such as engine size, trans, factory options, color. If you could throw out either a fender tag or the first portion of your VIN a production number can be known. Perhaps not down to the color. But I can tell you how many were made in 71 that were R/T with a 440 and an auto trans for instance.

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty sure we're dealing with low production numbers. Wondering how low though. :)

It's pretty rare! 1 of 119 just with engine and transmission. Keep in mind, in 1969, General Motors built more Chevelle Malibu's (Malibi?) than Dodge made 70-74 Challengers! And Plymouth made less 70-74 Barracudas. So any E-Body is rare in my book! 🙂
