Man reading through this post is really starting to motivate me to take on some body work on my car by myself. I've never done it, but there's so much information out there to learn... Pretty awesome job you've done!

Im back working on the car. Hopefully gonna get it running soon. Got a microcontroller wired up that automatically shuts the motor off when the oil pressure drops below 15psi. I even programmed it myself. It cost like 5 dollars wire included lol.

Quick update, I'm running out of time to be able to do body work before I hopefully go to medical school(if I get off the waitlist) I got a quote for the bodywork and they want 35-45k which, needless to say, is out of my budget as an EMT. So im looking into maybe just getting the rear wheel wells done and doing the rest myself. If that's too much I guess ill either dedicate the time to learn how to seamlessly patch the rear panels or rock it as it is untill I get that doctor money. Oh and it runs great. The headers just smoke for some reason they seem to have some fluid on them so I'm tracking that down. I can't start it most of the time as it resides in my moms garage and she works nights, and the neighbors wouldn't appreciate me starting it up at night even with the full exhaust on.

While you’re on the wait list you should find someone that can teach you how to weld or maybe there are some adult education courses that you could take advantage of. You’ve proven capable of figuring out a lot of stuff on your own so I think you could do the same with welding sheet metal. The right equipment is key.

Im definitely gonna upgrade my welder from a harbor freight mig to a nice multi-process welder. I've been eyeing the eastwood mp200i ac/dc.
