So that’s why you’ve been looking for this car, I’ve seen your posts around the ‘net.

Calm down about the dishonest seller and true car guy bit, the car is a commodity like anything else. Maybe next time don’t take the whole family with you to negotiate.

I haven’t seen it around but it’s hard to miss with that paint job. It’s probably half apart in somebody’s garage getting a new head gasket.

Quite a thread so far for your Mom and Dad's old car. Can you post the JH23G4B378749 window sticker so we can see how it came from the factory? Maybe you could post the other pics you took when your family went to go see the car?

After looking at the Mecum pics, I am surprised it reached $30,800. The paint color does not match from the fenders to the doors and the bodywork is horrible, especially that right fender. You might be better off finding a similar 1974 in better condition and end up with a better car.

No the seller did a ok job. I would call it a decent restoration. The paint is not great but for a driver it’s ok. As for the price it def wasn’t worth that. Car was basic auto 318 plain Jane car. To the poster above you and obviously don’t get it... Why shouldn’t I of taken the family? The seller gave me a price then raised it once we got there. Am I missing something here? I have bought and sold many things and not once ever would think of doing that!!

I am assuming that the intention was to return it to the condition your mom had the car in (stock)? If so, get another one that is closer to stock and build it exactly as she had it, yes the VIN might be different but the emotions will still be there. From what I am reading here, her car no longer represents what she had and your family remembers, so while the VIN might be right, nothing else will be and it would require a complete rebuild to undo everything that has been done. IMO you are much better off getting a car closer to stock and making it resemble her car as close as possible.

Why do you want to find it, just to see it or try to buy it from an owner who may not want to sell it anyway?
