I am looking for pictures and details on 70 Cuda fitment for the TTI 1-7/8" 440 headers when using a Borgeson power steering box (Berman Auto Craft kit).
TTI does not guarantee fitment with the Borgeson and neither does Bergman but my Internet research is sketchy and says "tight fit" or "clearanced one tube". I am assuming that clearancing would be at the cylinder 3 tube. See picture from TTI's website below. I do not want to dent a brand new set of TTI headers so clearancing the steering box's body or a bolt head would be preferred.
Any info or pictures of installed TTI headers and the Borgeson would be highly appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

I've no experience with this setup, either.

But denting header tubes to fit is kind of a common thing. Few will see it, a show judge isn't going to care, and if you're like me, I over think things sometimes and get a certain way, or a certain idea in my head creating a bunch of hardship. Just breathe.

Your combining two of the better aftermarket upgrades, the best headers, with the (presuming) Borgeson quick ratio box. This is going to be a grand setup, and I'm jealous thinking of the sound of those headers, and the steering box.

I'm sure you're going to be able to make this work. but yes, there may be some cosmetic alterations you'll have to make to got it working.

The E-body engine compartments with a big block makes things really tight. There is going to lots of heat from those headers. I might be inclined to insulate the headers to protect the box and minimize compartment heat. But that will look even less pretty, but oh, so functional. Insulation would hide your "header clearance-ing"

Sorry I don't have much to say that can help. But I'm very interested in this topic, and will be following your progress.

I am running those headers (TTI part number 440-178) on my 440 engine w/Trickflow 240 heads in a 72 Challenger. No clearance issues at all. The picture you provided from TTI shows a full size starter, which you will want to change to a mini-starter. I had no clearance issues even with upgrading the torsion bars to 1.03. I did not like the weak stock type "anchor" engine mounts so upgraded to the Dynatech mounts from 440source. The passenger side header is VERY close to the shock tower area but does clear. Just had to raise the car and raise each side of the engine to install. I am also using the Borgeson P/S unit and their Saginaw pump. Sorry, not the best pictures. Let me know if you need any other info.

Thanks for the quick responses. I am already running a ministarter and Hooker SuperComp 2" headers now with factory steering.

So is the clearance issue with Cylinder 3 on the Borgeson box? Can you snap a picture of the areas close to the Cylinder 3 & 5 tubes or other clearance areas that are tight?

On the driver side there are no really close clearances so you'll be good. Only on the passenger side (you'll see where I dinged the paint!). The dipstick tube in the photo looks close but it is not.

I will report back when the TTI 440-178C4 headers arrive and are installed. There is a 6-week delay since I ordered the O2 sensor bungs in both header collectors. That requires TTI to add the bungs and send them out for ceramic coating.
Thank you for the info and pics. Extremely helpful in confirming any fitment issues are minimal and not insurmountable!

Current Hooker 5209 SuperComp headers and factory PS box. Holley Terminator X EFI...best modification ever to my Cuda.

TTI 440-178C4 headers arrived on 11/29/2024. Barely over a week after the order.
This project includes an Auto-to-TKX 5-Speed conversion, Borgeson PS box, and a rear gear swap to 3.91's so it will be bit before the headers are installed. More pics later...
