Hello, my name is Nils, and I'm the recent and proud owner of a 73' Challenger Ralley. Originally a 383 4 spd car, car now had a 1970 340 in place. Previous owner also threw RT stickers on the car - even though its a 73'. I've historically been a Ford guy, but have always had a "thing" specifically for the e-bodies, and an opportunity to get one finally came up. I have lots to learn, and will ask lots of questions - many of them dumb, but don't mind getting dirty and doing things myself. Thanks in advance for help or direction I get from the member ship here. 1973 CHALLENGER PLUM CRAZY 099.jpg

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! Nice looking Challenger. First thing you should know is that you couldn't have gotten a big block an E body in '73.

Welcome to the site. Like has been said, no 383/440/Hemi available in 1972 or 1973 Challenger or Barracuda. Nice lookin car though. Show us more pictures if you have them on the engine bay and interior. Glad to have you.

Welcome to the site. You have a G or H code car. 318 or 340. Nice looking car. No matter what size motor came in it, just enjoy it as you are doing.

5th digit in the vin is a "H", so after taking a second look at the decoder it looks like a 340 car.

I'm in upstate in Rochester.

Thanks all for the code correction.

Now you need to verify that it really is an earlier 340 and not the one original to the car.
