As you can imagine Watkins gets its fair share of car clubs coming in, most with SCCA, we have a bunch of self-indulgent Porsche and BMW guys, Vipers, Vettes, etc. The Gran Prix Fest brings out of lot of vintage race cars for show and shine and to make a parade lap around the old road course. But the pinnacle, for me, is when the Ferrari guys come to town (which makes the BMW guys scatter like roaches when the lights come on...hard to brag about your BMW when it's sitting next to a Ferrari..fun to watch).

Ever see when Tom Quad brings out his AAR 'cuda to the Glen? Or his St. Regis? His last outing he built a 68 Charger for a guy and wrung it out.

There's a lot of potential in the stock suspension. More so than a lot of drivers will ever need. The hotchkis stuff does a good job of optimizing it. (just add real t-bars, springs, and konis).

Can't really argue with you on SB vs. BB. Personally I'd go with a 451/472 iron stroker with AL heads. Pretty close to fully dressed SB weight. If good heads for the SB weren't so expensive, I'd still say the SB.

Just make sure you run lots of wheel rate, have a great oil pan, and an accusump.

Cool project. Viper suspension sounds intriguing.
