I am looking to decode my engine block. driver side # is 2538430-8
passenger side is 25386430-9 any help would be appreciated. Mike

Thank You! it is a 440. I was told it was a 1970. It is not original to the car 1974 Challenger Thanks Mike

Welcome to the site from the Motor City! There's a machined pad in front of the intake manifold that has some hand stamped info on it. It should have F440 on it for 1970 and there is also a date cast into one side of the block I think next to the engine mount iirc.
