Chances are it's the relief valve in the oil pump. Not anything in the clearances. It's good to check those just to be sure - but my $$ on the pump. You should pull the cover off, and remove the relief valve. Clean its bore and make sure there are no burrs on the piston. Then reassemble it with a little white grease packed in the rotors. That should be a must-do for any new oil pump install. You might be amazed at how often there is a chip, or sticky valve in that bore.
