74 challenger upgrade to 10.87 0r 10.95 rotors

Hello; I have a 1974 challenger with factory power 10" front rotors with slider style calipers. I want to keep using my 14" road wheels. Is an upgrade to 10.87" or 10.97" front rotors worth it and if so what will I need to make this possible? I would like to to use OEM parts. Thanks for any advice.

My 73 has the standard 10" power disc brakes. I was wondering what I parts I need to upgrade to the larger rotors. Just the brackets from Dr. Diff? What about pads? Planning to run some track days this fall, and stronger brakes would be useful for the corners...

Thanks for your reply but as I stated, is going from the stock 10" braking system to the 10.87" or 10.97" rotor worth the effort? I checked out the motor trend info site and it was not helpful. I need to know what OEM parts I'm gonna need to make this upgrade and as I stated before, keep my 14" stock road wheels. Thanks again for any help.

The following excerpts are from the "Disc-o-tech" brake article.
"The caliper adapters for the 11.75" rotors measures 3.5" (dim. “A”) from the center of the "pin" holes to the center of the mounting holes. The optional adapter (for 14" wheels/10.87" rotors) measures 3.125" C-C (Dim “B”)."

"Slider adapter are also made for each of the two rotor sizes. Measure from the center of the mounting hole to a flat surface. If it’s 3-1/4", it fits the small rotors, 3-5/8" fit the biggies."

I don't think you would see any difference for the amount of work.

The 11.75 rotors and caliper adapters do NOT fit 14” wheels so the OP cannot go that route.
The 1974 Challenger could be ordered with the HD 10.87 diameter front discs which everyone calls 11” rotors. Those are the ones you need to keep your 14” wheels.

Curious about this reply, there's only 1 size for the smaller rotors.

Katfish, I've been wondering the same thing. Factory rotors for B and E-bodies, there are two sizes - ~10.9 and 11.75. Unless I missed something.
