Goin' to fetch mom's car from Ernie tomorrow morning. I can hardly wait to work on it 100ft from my house, instead of an hour away. I can only rave about the quality of work and Ernie's great attitude at MOTOFAB. He's truly a honest guy, who does superior work, at very reasonable rates. He loves what he does. The Cummins is waiting...........

Cool.
Having it close allows you to "tinker" on it with the never ending small things without it having to be a scheduled event.
I literally only get to work on mine 1/2 to 3/4 hours a day.
Love the color and stance btw.
Mike.

Thanks. Yeah I had to always plan a series of "events" when I went over there. If I didn't get something that was planned done....I was pissed/disappointed. Now, I can do things at a reasonable pace and plan. Today did not go smooth....but it's home. The trailer battery quit...so no tongue jack or winch. I bought a battery, and the jack is still not working. I ripped one of the mudflaps off the dually, and one of the chimes for a bad bulb won't shut up. That was 2 hours of chiming.....and there are no bulbs out. GRRRRR When we got back to my place and unloaded it...we noticed that a huge bump we went over really moved the front end alignment. I didn't have the cam-bolts tight.

Finished painting[suede]/ building the steering column, and set it in place with a beater steering wheel. I'm going to have to set a seat in there, so I can place the fly-by-wire gas pedal.

Mike....That green suede steering column looks great! Was wondering what color and brand paint you used on your parking brake assembly and the steering column cowel support.

Thanks...I'm glad I rebuilt the column myself. I really wish I could help you, but I bought both of the gray pieces[brake assemblies] off ebay. They were done and cheaper than refinishing my stuff....by the time I correctly stripped them, painted them and time involved. Some stuff is like that. I know I'll be able to resell my 70-only stuff. The suede paint is a perfect example. It was $90+ a pint[good guy price].

Really quite a bit of column space for as wide as those Gen III Hemis are.
Not as wide as a Gen II of course but most people would be surprised.

That's a bit deceptive. It's a Borgeson box, and been moved outward a bit. Lots of stuff going on with the build that's secret squirrel stuff.[not intentionally]

It seems that there is no detail of this build that has not been tweeked and massaged. That
takes a lot of time and effort, all done properly. I can't wait to ride in it (I'll bet I do - JL).

Yep once you deviate from factory, the modified and fabricated parts list expands exponentially...
Very clean build you have. Been nice to follow your progress.

Thank you. We've been expecting an unending list of "adjustments" to make this idea of mine work. Most are so small in the scheme of things, that they're not noteworthy. However, all are very important for a clean and working end-product.

Exactly! And 90% will never be noticed.
With my radiator and wiring relocate and intercoolers there are 19 separate plates and brackets to tie it in neatly.

Enough about me. Whats next on your agenda?

Plumbing and wiring. Just welded some AN stuff to make existing stuff neater and correctly positioned. Got the powder coated stuff back, and will be installing the heater plumbing and the fabbed trans cover first. I'm gonna have to order some black AN stuff once all the hard-lines are in position. You'll notice the spacing-out/threading of mounting points for the heater/AC box, as well. One size, does not fit all. HUGE KUDOS to Ernie at MOTOFAB again.

Just etch primed the new fittings and approximate location install. Much nicer than rubber hose and clamps. Also a better look at the convertor cover that was fabbed.

Well...today I bought some closed-cell foam, and started the insulation of the interior. I won't need any interior cowl gaskets, and the heater-A/C box is in. I had to redo one of the water pipes on the engine to get a better shot to the fittings on the cowl. As soon as the pipe is recoated, I'll get the lines run. Next is the A/C and trans-cooler lines.

My buddy J.R. He always wanted to work on project cars. Now he is, and I appreciate his help.

Gonna try to do the other half of the cowl insulation tomorrow.
