MSD ignition and rally tach

Im running a (ready to run MSD distributor) can the rally tach be hooked directly to it, or is there something that needs to be added. As far as i know tach is original, hasnt been upgraded to electronic.

When my mechanic installed my new 440 in my challenger he had to install a MSD tach adapter. I have a rally dash and a MSD distributor and a 6A ignition box.

It won't work with electronic ignition without being upgraded or with an adapter from the ignition mfg.
