okay guys,

Need some help cause I’m 31 and don’t have much experience with older cars unless I have had to fix it. My 73 challengers wiper arms are not going into park. They worked fine before and I maybe used them twice in 2 years.

Yesterday is sprinkled and I put them on. I just put on a T/A good and noticed they were rubbing so I turned them off. They stopped exactly where they were and did not go to park.

I lifted the hood up and tried with the same thing happening.

Any ideas what the issue could be? Bad motor, linkage, ect?

Thanks!

I had the same problem
It was the ground at the switch. Ran a separate ground wore from switch to metal on dash. Fixed my problem

Mine was doing the same thing it ended up being the connection to the firewall. A bad one that is. Replaced all that wiring just in case. The ground is prob it.

Three speed wipers? More common to find the motor park switch contacts need to be cleaned. Pull the reduction gear access cover, carefully note the indexing tab location, run some emery cloth through the contacts in the switch built into the cover.

My issue was the connection at the fire wall. I could wiggle it and it would then park. Cleaned em terminals up and been working fine since. Though I do agree one other possible issue is noted above by 72roadrunner
