I have a 2speed wiper switch, both speeds work fine . traced brown wire form washer pump back to wiper switch, all neatly wraped in wire harness and in plug on back of switch.
Big question is how is the washer part activated. I turn the switch to run but cannot push or pull knob. Is my switch broken ,seized up or wrong switch. How is washer supposed to work.

The are two different type of two speed switches that were used for the E bodies. Part number 2947404 for 70-71 and 3488764 for 72-74. Neither two speed switch supported an electric pump washer pump motor. There is a floor mounted foot plunger used to squirt fluid on the windshield. So, there is nothing wrong with your wiper switch.

Regarding the dash harness, the #19 position on the bulkhead connector all have a brown wire running and connecting at the wiper switch socket. In other words, there was no two speed or three speed E body specific dash harness.

The 2770380 variable speed for 70-71 or the 3488773 three fixed speed for 72-74 wiper switches included an extra terminal blade on the switch that could push in from the knob to drive an electric washer pump motor.
