My Challenger is stock ride height so Blistiens and QA1s fit just fine! Since your 2 to 3 inches higher in the rear than stock, you're going to need a truck shock. Maybe something like a KYB 344070...
Is the resistor for the motor OK? I remember going through about 3 or 4 resistors years ago for my 70 Challenger before I got one that would work! For awhile I had the defrost motor hooked directly to battery with an inline fuse. Man did that motor blow some air. Unfortunately I didn't like how...
Imperial shocks are 24.5" extended and have about 8.5" of travel. Might be too short for you! Maybe a 70's truck rear shock as they are 25.2" extended and have 10.4" travel?
Definitely reuse your brass spring. They spiral out pretty easy. Especially here in the desert if left in the sun for half an hour or so. At least I'm cooler than Phoenix!
Hook up a vacuum gauge when it's cold and see how it reads. Then drive it to warm it up and check the vacuum gauge again. Use the attached guide to diagnose the problem. You can efficiently tune your car with nothing more than a vacuum gauge and rpm gauge!
I don't have a log, but somewhere in my storage (seem to have lots of that now) I have bottles I saved of beers I liked! Must be a dozen u-haul boxes or so!
Unfortunately you're comparing apples to oranges. A hemi cylinder head will always make more horsepower than a wedge. It's in the design. If I had to guess, I believe the Ford results are very similar for a Mopar engine - ~100hp more for the hemi heads.
I don't intend to make anyone angry, but...
When I worked in an engine machine shop years ago, we had a hot tank (caustic cleaner) that would clean up rusty blocks and heads so they looked new! Probably did away with all those type of tanks nowadays. Still, your block and cylinder heads can be cleaned up and salvaged! I've literally...
Vaanth (Gary), thank you for the Thermoquad Guide links! A wealth of great information. The Thermoquad is my go to carburator. Attached is the 413 (1970) my son and I built together. The Thermoquad hasn't been rebuilt yet. I'm going to rebuild it with my son so he understands how carbs work and...
Welcome to FEBO from the desert! Nice Challengers! I'm kinda envious as I only have one Challenger and one Barracuda! My son has a 2015 Challenger parked in the garage next to my 70 Challenger! You need to add a Barracuda/Cuda to your collection! 😉
Mopar426power, I'm just the opposite! Give me anything red down to stout! At least we have red in common! My go to beers are Modelo Negra and Black Butte Porter!
Surprisingly, Guinness draft is a stout with only 4.7% abv. It's like drinking light beer!
But the best beer (besides free) is one...
Good point Tony! The stuck O-Ring is more common on small blocks from my experience. One O-Ring is good. Two O-Rings is a leak. I found this out many years ago when I changed the oil and filter on my Mom's Plymouth Valiant. Mom still chides me about that!
There are shims for the valve springs to ensure that the valves, valve keepers and retainer gives the correct valve spring installed height.
With the factory stamped rocker arms, shimming between the posts and rocker shafts is needed sometimes for high lift camshafts. Stamped factory rocker...
Someone did a lot of extra work on that block! I think Melling made their pushrods longer to help compensate for the thicker after market composite gaskets.
Assuming that's with the Edelbrock heads and MSL head gasket you've chosen, if it was me, I'd get the Edelbrock heads, RPM air gap intake and a Lunati camshaft get! Something in the . 513/.533 lift range (704).
