Oil filter adapter issues need help.

Had a small leak in my original adapter (Pic 2) So decided to buy a new one. Put new one on, and had a gusher of oil everywhere when started. What did I do wrong? Everything was tight.

I ended up using Permatex black RTV. I do recall at one time pining the center of the plate. with the standard filter.

Only in a perfect world. I too had a problem when I was priming the motor. After a day of attempt after attempt I go it fixed. AND I ask myself. Self, How does something so simple take so long. Just spin a filter on!

For the pipe fitting on the adaptor, use the white plumber's putty (Loctite 567). Also, oil on the rubber gasket.
