I have found an AAR which needs restoration and would ask if anyone can provide guidance. The car was purchased by a friend quite a while back, he then disassembled it and had the chassis blasted and sealed. Teheran floor pans, left frame rail and quarter’s need replacement. Now my buddy wants out ans will sell at what appears to be a fair value. The motor is a 1970 340, not a T/A, the car is a column shift automatic and originally purple. I need to find out if it is really an AAR, he does have build sheet and fender tags so I think it is. Any guidance regarding value or anything else would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I think vin code would be JS23J0 as first 6 digits on vin code. Title, fender tag, and build sheet would all be the same. Body and other components are stamped with the last 6 digits of the vin too I think.

Lots of questions. Does the fender tag match the build sheet? Match the vin tag and then match the radiator shroud and cowl stamp?
FC7 is in-violet purple.
Does the transmission have the correct vin stamp on it?

Let's see some pictures.

AARs will have a passenger rear quarter antenna, no cut out rear valence, brackets for the side exhaust, J for engine code, front and rear sway bars, rear spoiler, fiberglass hood, among a few things to look for beside matching numbers for the VIN on the dash, door, cowl, and radiator support.

AAR were Cuda's (BS23JOB) and Challenger T/As were base (JH23JOB). The 340 T/A blocks are a beefier animal that the regular 340s. Is the original 727 automatic there? Does the 340 have the correct 6 pack intake and carbs? Just trying to access what's missing besides the original T/A block (yes AARs had 3577130-TA-340 blocks).

So if the body stamps show 0B303521 and vin tag match BS23J0B303521 you will have a real AAR. Probably aught to buy it.
Do you know where the stamps are? Radiator mount and cowl ?
Get a picture of the door sticker as well. That will help tie the BS to the car.

Fender tag looks legit. BS looks legit.
Match those stamp numbers and that will be great!
Also, match the vin tag and door sticker.
Ask if there is any other factory documentation. Window sticker or order form.

You're a lucky man my friend. Not many people find AAR's, much less from a friend at a decent price point.
I've been looking for years for an affordable aar.
This ride will be sharp when completed.

Please post more details on the car as you get closer to the purchase or after the purchase.

It's probably missing, but do you have the second "TRANS AM" tag (see below) or can tell if the third screw hole is in fender skirt? The third screw hole would help prove it's an AAR .
