3-Speed Wiper Motor #3431 665 (73692 3562)

What RPM does your 3-Speed Wiper Motor run on Low/Med/High?

I bench tested my Wiper Motor using the car battery (car not running). It runs at ~30 RPM on Low and ~60 RPM on high.

Retested it in the car using the 3-Speed switch (car not running, linkage not connected) and get ~30 Low / ~40 Med / ~60 High.

These no-load speeds seem very low to me.

Are there RPM specifications for these motors?

Are there any tear-down / rebuild references available?

Thanks everyone

Not many would have recorded that RPM measurement like you did so you might be waiting for a while. Maybe these 2 videos of mine might help. They're 2 different "077" motors, one sold, one in my car.

@EW1BH27 - I came across your videos and several other of your very informative threads while searching for information on this topic. Thanks for all the content - very helpful.

Based on the video, I estimated your 3431077 motor was running at ~30 to 35 RPM Low and ~120 RPM High. I assume the switch would run the motor at ~75 RPM in the Medium position. These are the RPM's I would expect, and this helped me determine my motor has issues.

I started removing the electrical tape from the wires on the motor and find the typical broken insulation & exposed wiring. Oh, and a hole in the casting 🤔

Are there still folks in the Mopar community that refurbish these motors at a fair price?

I'll probably disassemble it looking to see if there is anything obviously wrong but will need professional help if its more than broken wires...

Well that's the kicker. That hole in your housing will obviously make a rebuild more expensive who ever you take it to. I found this 2023 comment on FABO.
"To my surprise there is an add for wiper motor rebuild by David Bass in Salem, Oregon. David will rebuild your wiper motor for $279 plus the shipping cost to his address. I contacted David and sent him my wiper motor on a Tuesday. The next Wednesday I had a completely rebuilt wiper motor in my hands. If you need his services, give him a call at 503-551-0453."

Weight reduction is always costly 👍

I had just saw YouTube video "Mopar 3 Speed Wiper Motor Restored" that mentioned "a guy in Salem, Oregon", but as a courtesy, didn't mention the guy's name without the guy's permission. Thanks for the reference!

I also found remanufactured motors at Norm's Speed Shop on eBay. And Bill Meerholz Enterprises - NOS Mopar, Restored Original and Quality Used Mopar and Chrysler Parts has a few options depending on your need / budget.

I do not have a numbers matching car, so all the above are good options for my need.
